Au Yay at Au Fudge!

A few weeks ago we did the gifts for an event at Au Fudge in Los Angeles celebrating the new collaboration between Rifle Paper Co. and Solly Baby.  The gifts included a Rifle Paper Co. x Solly Baby swaddle, Rifle Paper Co. Tapestry notebook set and a copy of "Movers, Shakers, Mommies and Makers."  The new collection is gorgeous, and we were so happy to hear Anna Rifle Bond of Rifle Paper and Elle Rowley of Solly Baby share their tips and experiences concerning collabs, motherhood and different ways of growing a small business.  We met a bunch of great women, and we always love a party at Au Fudge!

Spotlight on a Non-Profit We Love: Raise A Child.US

415,000 foster kids need permanent homes.

Children in foster care are just regular kids who, through no fault of their own, are removed from their families due to situations of abuse, neglect, or outright rejection. Too many children languish in an overburdened U.S. foster care system.

Hope everyone had a great Valentine's Day!  We were so happy to share the love with friends we made at our Madewell and Alfred Coffee Pop-Ups over Valentine's Day weekend.

Even though we were crazy busy making flower arrangements, prepping gift boxes and doing shipments and deliveries, we always have time to support other companies we love.  So, when The Giving Keys asked us for a special Valentine's Day box to be a game prize at their first solo-branded Pop-Up ever, of course we obliged!

Supporting Local Businesses!

Indie Jams are seasonal, small-batch jams inspired by music. Using organic fruit sourced from local farmers, Meredith Lockwood combines her passion for singing and songwriting with her love for food to create unique, mouth-watering jams that promote both the local music and local food scenes.

Dana and I had the opportunity to meet Meredith at an Artisanal LA event last year, and she is a total sweetheart!  Her heart and rock 'n' roll soul can be tasted in every jar of jam.  Are you POP, PUNK, BLUES, COUNTRY or all of the above?

Spotlight on a Non-Profit We Love: THE BLANK THEATRE

The Blank Theatre is a non-profit that is committed to the enrichment of Hollywood’s cultural life through production of first-rate theatre, education of current and future artists, and creation of groundbreaking new works for the theatrical repertoire.  Every June, The Blank hosts the Young Playwrights Festival, a nationwide playwriting competition for writers aged 9 to 19.  Winning playwrights are assigned an industry mentor and work with professional directors and actors before ultimately seeing their plays staged in front of a live audience.  The Blank has helped shape so many young people's lives, and a short documentary about the process can be seen here.

As part of the Festival, The Blank has created a flagship Apprenticeship Program with tremendous opportunities for participants.  Each summer 12 to 18 students (including returning military veterans) from around the world are given invaluable hands-on immersion training in theatre as an integral part of the production team. They are stage managers, assistant directors, design assistants and are offered a unique opportunity to work with 12 different directors during the month-long Festival.

Last year, Gratitude Collaborative was a sponsor for the Apprentices (seen in the photo above). They work so hard behind the scenes, and the Young Playwrights Festival couldn't happen without them!
